Tier II · Session I · 2025 cycle

Section I has 60 minutes, Section II has 60 minutes, and the qualifying Computer Knowledge Test has 15 minutes. The two parts within a section do not have separate timers.

Tier II · Session II · post-specific skill / typing test

These are alternative qualifying tasks by post, not three tests for every candidate. The notice assigns a 15-minute skill test to DEO posts and a 10-minute typing test to LDC/JSA; eligible scribes receive additional time.

Key rules and selection stages

This is the 2025 notice's pattern, retained as a previous-cycle reference. The 2026 exam calendar does not by itself confirm that all paper rules stayed the same.
Tier I deducts 0.50 mark per wrong answer. Tier II Sections I–III deduct one mark per wrong answer; Computer Knowledge and the post-specific skill/typing test are qualifying. Final merit uses Tier II Sections I and II, subject to qualifying the other sections.

2025 examination cycle; Tier I normalized marks for shortlisting to Tier II, released on 27 February 2026. SSC has three different post lists. Minimum qualifying percentages (UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, others 20%) are separate from these competitive cut-offs. No 2026-cycle cut-off is implied.
