Condensed headings from the Commission's indicative Tier I and Tier II syllabi. Tier II Paper I is compulsory; Statistics Paper II is for shortlisted JSO/Statistical Investigator candidates and Finance/Economics Paper III for shortlisted Assistant Audit/Accounts Officer candidates. Computer Knowledge and Data Entry Speed are separate qualifying sections. The platform's current practice tests do not reproduce sectional timers or every official stage rule.

Key rules and selection stages

Tier I is a 60-minute computer-based test with a separate 15-minute timer for each subject; wrong answers lose 0.50 marks.
Tier II Paper I deducts one mark for a wrong answer in Sections I–III. Papers II and III deduct 0.50 mark per wrong answer.
Computer Knowledge and Data Entry Speed Test are qualifying; Paper I is compulsory for all posts, while Papers II/III depend on the post.
The post-specific papers are separate exams, not one combined 200-question sitting. Scribe-eligible candidates receive the notice's additional time.

Normalized 2025 Tier I marks used to shortlist for Tier II. SSC publishes separate lists for Junior Statistical Officer, Statistical Investigator Grade II, and other posts. Minimum qualifying percentages (UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, others 20%) are different from these competitive cut-offs. The 2026 cycle has no cut-off in this result.
